Online bookkeeping
Remote bookkeeping that behaves like an in house department.
Our team works in your accounting file, on a published schedule, with a named lead accountant, secure document handling, and a portal where every deliverable lives. Remote is how the work is delivered. It is not a lower standard of service.

The concern
Owners worry that remote means distant.
The fear is reasonable. Plenty of remote bookkeeping is a portal, a monthly file drop, and nobody to ask. That is not a location problem, it is a service design problem.
Our engagements are built the way an internal department would be: a named lead accountant who knows your business, a reviewer above them, a close calendar you can plan around, a standing review call, and a written record of who owns each step.
What you lose by going remote is the desk. What you gain is a team with more depth than a single hire, a documented process instead of one person's habits, and continuity when someone is out.
Where the market went
Remote finance work is now the normal way owner led businesses buy it.

How it actually works
Six things that make remote feel close.
01
A named lead accountant
One person who knows your business, your software, and your season, with a reviewer above them so the work does not depend on one calendar.
02
A close calendar
Your deliverable date is agreed in the scope and published. You plan around it instead of asking where the reports are.
03
A standing review call
At the cadence in your engagement. The point is decisions taken, not statements admired.
04
One portal
Statements, reconciliations, schedules, and requests in one place, for as long as you are a client.
05
A written request loop
Open questions come to you as a short list with a deadline that protects the close date, not as scattered emails.
06
Documented ownership
Every step in the monthly process has a named owner and a frequency, on both sides.
Security and access
Least access, always.
- Read only access first, upgraded only where the scope requires it
- Named individual logins, never shared credentials
- Multi factor authentication on every system we touch
- Documents exchanged through the portal, not email attachments
- Access reviewed when scope changes and removed at the end of an engagement
- No signature authority on your bank accounts
Access requirements are written into the engagement, so you always know what our team can and cannot reach.

Remote is a delivery method. Accountability is the product.
Judge the service on whether the close lands on its date, whether the balances are supported, and whether someone senior has actually reviewed the month. Location does not decide any of that.
Software
We work in what you already own.
Our team supports the major accounting platforms, along with the field service, payroll, and payment systems around them. Digits is our preferred platform for new engagements because of how it handles classification and review, and we will explain the tradeoff rather than require the move. If your current platform is genuinely holding the business back, you will see the cost of staying and the cost of moving before anyone commits.
Questions
What owners ask about remote work.
Do we need to change accounting software?
No. Our team works in what you use. A platform change is only recommended when the cost of staying is higher than the cost of moving, and we show you both numbers.
How do we send documents?
Through your portal. Bank and payroll data usually arrives through secure read only connections, so there is far less to send than owners expect.
Who do we contact with a question?
Your named lead accountant, by email or in the portal. Anything urgent has an escalation path written into your engagement.
Can you work with our in house office staff?
Yes, and that is common. Our team usually takes reconciliation, close, and reporting while your office keeps customer contact and day to day entry.
Are you available during our busy season?
Yes. The close calendar is set with your season in mind, and the reviewer arrangement means the work does not stop when one person is out.
